Food bank eases hunger

Council member not a thief I have refrained from making comment until now concerning the missing plaque at Connellsville’s East Park.

I am also upset by the disappearance of the sign honoring the late Bill Hughes.

But I am also upset by the allegations made in local newspapers about who might be responsible for the disappearance of the plaque. I want to reassure those concerned voices, both in the community and a few members of city council, that I am not a vandal and I am not a thief.

Proper procedure was not followed in the naming of publicly-owned property. If I would have voted yes at the October council meeting, I would have been condoning the improper procedure. If I would have voted no, I would have been disrespectful to the memory of Mr. Bill Hughes. Therefore, I abstained.
