Pay attention to young voters

Last month’s workshop reflected young people’s concerns. If a candidate pays attention to those concerns, we have a candidate worth voting for. Otherwise, we have just four politicians in a popularity contest. We want to know we’ll have a future in Pennsylvania. We want to know that doors will open if we want to start our own businesses. We don’t want to see our small-town stores close. We want more businesses in the state. The candidate who listens to us will be the next governor of Pennsylvania.

The gubernatorial race is on and candidates are campaigning to persuade people of all ages to vote for them. Our mission statement as voters should be to elect the best candidate to lead Pennsylvania into economic, social and political success.

Accordingly, our duty is to educate ourselves and then vote. Educating voters means that they will have a better understanding of each candidate’s views on today’s issues in Pennsylvania.

Moreover, it increases participation in the electoral process, which is democracy at its best. Thanks to Issues PA this year’s voters have the opportunity to access information on a variety of key issues that affect Pennsylvania’s economic performance and quality of our communities

He was among those chosen to ask the four gubernatorial candidates a question during a recent debate that was televised statewide on public television.
