Troops appreciate support
We would like to thank Josh Krysak and the Herald-Standard for writing such a nice article about our son, Josh. As the article said he is serving in the U.S. Air Force and is at an undisclosed air base in the Middle East. We are very proud of Josh, and we have had some e-mail correspondence with him. We have told him how supportive everyone has been to us. It is overwhelming to know the amount of prayers that are being said for Josh and all the other men and women serving in the military. In one of Josh’s e-mails he responded to my reaction to this overwhelming support by saying: “Tell everybody at work and everybody else that is praying for me thank you. It really helps me when I know people are actually supporting this war now, not just protesting it.”
His reaction really struck something in us. It made us sad to think that our children are serving this country to allow us to be free and we may be making them feel that we do not appreciate it. People have the right to protest and our troops have given them that right by doing their duty in past wars.
Whether you agree with the war or not, we are in it and there is no turning back. The troops serving need your support. They need to see this country stand behind them not protest against them. I do not want my son or anyone else’s son or daughter or husband or wife to be treated the way the Vietnam veterans were treated when they came home.
Please support our troops and God bless America.
