Snyder’s knowledge unsurpassed

3 min read

In response to the letter, “What do row offices fear,” my view may be a bit biased with first-hand knowledge since I worked for Janice Snyder, but I would love to respond. They may fear that some person without knowledge of their position may win an election for all the wrong reasons. Maybe they are aspiring to be a politician and have no knowledge of exactly what that office truly does. Maybe someone put them up to running just to have one more political ally in a position just for their own gain

To all persons with a job, stop and think. Do you feel you do the very best in your position? If so, wouldn’t it offend you to see some newcomer try to take your job in a twisted popularity contest? I’m sure I’d be offended, not to mention I need every dollar I earn.

Don’t look at a political race as a challenge, but take the time to gain knowledge of exactly what each office does. Once you’re informed with that information, see just how much knowledge each candidate possesses.

In the case of clerk of courts, I challenge you to try and find anyone who can beat Janice Snyder when it comes to the knowledge of her office as well as fairness and drive.

Little for teens to do

Another place to shop. That’s just what this town needs. But it’s just another thing for the adults to do.

What about the teen-agers in this town? There is only so much we can find to do. Let me think. Well, we could go bowling one night, but that gets expensive. We could go play pool, if we were old enough to get in the bars. Oh I know, let’s go to a movie that by the time you buy the ticket, popcorn and pop you’ve got $20 invested. About the only thing left to do is ride around town or sit in parking lots of businesses and restaurants until we get chased out. Then what are we supposed to do?

This is usually the part where we act up. Car ever been egged? House toilet papered? Sorry we have nothing better to do.

So instead of yet another store, why not build us someplace to go and hang out. Some place we can call ours and we don’t have to worry about being told you guys can’t sit in this parking lot. Help us out, instead of doing something to make our town looked advanced, do something for your children and grandchildren.

Don’t be so greedy, you have enough places to shop.
