Morals shrink with swimsuit?

3 min read

There are many reasons why our country is dying morally and spiritually. There is one that many seem to have ignored. It is the swimsuit, or lack thereof. The swimsuit was introduced to society about 1900. It covered the entire body. But as time moved on, the suit now virtually covers none of the body. It has evolved into mini-bikinis, the thongs, short and shorter shorts, and mini-skirts. And the swimwear for men has also shrunk.

As it decreased, our nation has also decreased in Christian morals and in spiritually. However, increasing have been such crimes as rape, incest, child molestation, pornography, elicit sex, unwanted pregnancies, indifference to evil and other types of sin.

If what is now shown on TV and in the movies was displayed on TV, when it became popular in the 1940s, the public would have been greatly outraged.

But today, ‘nudity’ is casually accepted as normal by a growing number. TV and the movies plus magazines are dripping with sex and near nakedness. Almost every movie and TV program (that is risqu?) has at least one bedroom scene. One cannot view TV without being exposed to breasts, navels, and buttocks.

Years ago the burlesque was somewhat common. The burlesque house has been replaced by shows of the entertainment industry, by public beaches, and even by back yard swimming pools.

What lies ahead? Will we be allowed to run completely naked in public? One very reliable news outlet relates that there are 650 nude beaches in America.

The ungodly will tell us that this nudity is simply a change of cultures…something to be expected. But God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. God is not fickle. His precepts are constant. Have our clergymen been too silent to this trend?

Outstanding support

On July 26th, the Parents of Autistic Kids (PAK) Support Group held its third annual Autism Awareness luncheon at Becker’s Shadyside Restaurant.

Each year this event helps us provide activities and information for families, monies for research, etc.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all who had any part in making this our most successful year yet. Many businesses donated items for our Chinese Auction, several bakeries donated cakes for the luncheon dessert, 14 ladies hosted a table for the event – and the list goes on. We would like to send a special thanks to the Becker family who hosted the event.

We appreciate the support we received from the community. We hope to see everyone next year. If you would like to receive more information on the support group, please call me at 724-437-0815.
