Whose bright idea was this?
Speak out against harassment We live in a city full of corruption and I am tired of nothing being done. Only in Uniontown can you be harassed by the police and no one will do anything about it; not the police, captain or chief nor the mayor or the investigator at the district attorney’s office.
To report harassment is to be harassed more and be accused of lying or liking the harasser. Anyone who has had this happen knows what I am talking about. I have had enough of it. I know I am not the only one who has had to deal with it, so why is no one speaking out? Ladies, I think you know what I am talking about. I am a woman and I don’t feel that any man with or without a uniform should make me do anything I don’t want to, surely not the police. I am very curious as to how many people this has happened to. According to the offices and people above, it doesn’t happen here.
The authorities in this city know harassment happens but no one will admit it, which makes it possible for it to continue. It makes me laugh when I hear them use the term “we police our own.” What does that mean?
I believe what they are really saying is coverup. They don’t want you to know what these officers and troopers have done. How do they police there own? I would like to know, wouldn’t you? What’s a reprimand? Your CO slaps your fingers and you keep your job. If any of us would do what they do we would be fired and put in jail. Why aren’t they? They are put behind a desk with pay. What’s that?
That’s punishment? I don’t think so. Meanwhile, we are left to deal with the scars of their abuse. Why is it they have their own set of rules and can do as they please, especially if they have relatives in high up positions? Shouldn’t we all be that lucky?
When you go to the authorities and you’re treated with disrespect or like you’re the criminal then maybe they don’t deserve the privilege of their position. From what I have seen in this city, it disgusts me. When police can do as they wish and there’s no authority or law to stop them, something’s wrong.
This city needs to be cleaned up. If you are as tired of it as I am, use your voice or pen to make it known. File complaints against those who harass you. There are civil rights attorneys to help you. They are aware of what happens in this city.
If you have had this problem, you are not alone. Why keep silent? The officer or trooper who harassed you is telling his partners about it, no doubt laughing about how they get away with it. Does that bother you? I encourage anyone in this position to speak out and let it be known.
