Hats off to Hardy
Over the years, and more often than not, Fayette County has gotten very little positive attention by the news media. Thanks to the recent PGA Tournament held at Nemacolin Woodlands and the coverage provided by ESPN, individuals across the country were exposed to the beautiful mountains that abound our county, the magnificent resort that is at our finger tips, and the outstanding planning and organizing that went into this tournament. On the last day of the tournament my wife and I decided to visit the tournament. During our ride, we noticed nothing unusual with the flow of traffic. Traffic was moving as it normally does, even better than what we have experienced during the fall foliage time of the year. Banners displayed by businesses welcoming the golfers and spectators reflected a warm hospitable feeling. It was also reassuring observing the concern given to security. The Pennsylvania state police were present along with other security personnel.
Upon entering Nemacolin Woodland’s property, we were directed to a parking lot by attendants who were pleasant and helpful, making parking very easy. As we walked the course it was quite noticeable that great care was given to making everyone very comfortable.
The highlight of the day was watching the professional golfers at close range demonstrate their outstanding talents. This was a totally different perspective from watching them on television. Overall, we had a great day and this same feeling prevailed with others with whom we spoke.
Thank you Mr. Hardy and your staff for providing this first in Fayette County and showing that our county can be a frontrunner in many positive ways.
