Get three hots and cots ready
The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections needs to reserve a couple of cells. Marie E. McKenney might be willing to forgive the thugs who grabbed her car keys from her pants pocket and then stole her car. But society shouldn’t. When these thieves are nabbed, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania ought to visit the full force of the law upon their heads.
Mrs. McKeeney, a 79-year-old Dunbar woman, was washing her clothes at the Village Laundry when she became the second elderly woman in as many days to be accosted while doing a routine chore at the Dunbar Township laundry.
The first attack came Saturday when 79-year-old June Sanner of South Connellsville was carrying a basket of clothes out of the building. A man, accompanied by a woman, grabbed her purse and ran. The two men who robbed Mrs. McKeeney were even more brazen. They stole her wallet then demanded her car keys. When she refused, one reached in her pocket to take them. Her daughter told a reporter that her mother is praying for the thugs and hopes they listen to her stolen religous tapes.
Once arrested and convicted, they ought to have plenty of time to find religion where they are going.
