LH teacher will be missed
The halls of Laurel Highlands High School will certainly miss the presence of an outstanding and extraordinary
teacher next fall.
Miss Bonnie Molk, Spanish teacher,
finished her amazing career this school year. Miss Molk
spent many years instilling and inspiring many, many
students with an education in Spanish, and in the pride and
importance of the Hispanic and Spanish cultures in our
country and throughout the world. The teaching of a
foreign language is important to students. It helps
students develop different thinking styles and learning
strategies. I know this firsthand, because Miss Molk
instilled a love in me of Spanish and influenced my life in
many ways, most importantly becoming a Spanish teacher
myself. Miss Molk encouraged me to become a Rotary
International Youth Exchange student and spend a year
abroad in a Latin American nation and learn fluent Spanish
right out of high school. Miss Molk has become a dear
friend to me over the years and I know she has touched the
lives of thousands of students over the many years of her
teaching career. Miss Molk was indeed a teacher who cared
for her students, not just in class, but how they did in
life long after high school graduation. Her high standards
as a teacher should be admired by anyone in the profession
or planning to pursue the field. The Mustang “Red, White,
and Blue” will certainly be a bit more “blue” come next
fall without Miss Molk as a teacher at Laurel Highlands.
Gracias and God bless you Miss Molk.
