Count me as one of many who appreciate downtown Uniontown’s facelift spearheaded by Commissioner Joseph A. Hardy III. Such is my appreciation that when downtown-in daylight or at night-I will backtrack to Main and Connellsville Streets and leisurely drive down eye pleasing Main Street. ‘Tis a sight to behold

What goes unnoticed is two mustard seed efforts to vitalize Main Street’s look.

In the 1980’s it was W.H. Farwell Company putting colorful yellow flags on their fa?ade. In 1990 it was the relocation of Ptak’s Formal Wear to the vacant J.C. Penney store on Main Street. Ptak’s colorful well-let store windows are impressive and blend well with the Hardy Main Street look.
