Remembering Masontown High
If you graduated from Masontown High School the years from 1930 to 1960 and you chose not to attend the All Class reunion held on Oct. 1 at the Uniontown Holiday Inn, then you missed an evening of old friendships renewed, sharing memories of years past, expressing grief at the passing of classmates and teachers, and drifting back mentally to a kinder, more gentler time in many of our lives. Co-chairpersons Lois Capanna Kish and Elaine Franks Agostini and their hard-working committee deserve commendation for giving so unselfishly of their time and personal resources to make it possible for classmates from at least 22 states to reconnect with friends and treasured memories of long ago.
From a personal point of view I attended the reunion as a guest spouse, but I had a strong recollection of my sister’s friends and activities because I tagged along, much to my sister’s chagrin, to Augies and various school functions. I feel comfortable speaking for classmates in attendance. I express our heartfelt thanks to Lois, Elaine and the committee for all the hours of hard work and anxiety that made it possible to “Celebrate 75 Years of Friendship.”
“Stalwart let her stand forever, Let her glory crown, Hail to thee our Alma Mater, Hail our Masontown.”
