Santorum is hypocrite
Remember when Sen. Rick Santorum wanted the National Weather Service to be stopped from performing services that are also provided by the private sector? Now he’s complaining about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He wants to see the residents of New Orleans to receive stiffer penalties if they choose not to evacuate and yet he wants to eliminate the life-saving information and services of the National Weather Service. Doesn’t he realize that the taxpayers are paying for the services provided by the NWS? He says that by allowing the NWS to create and distribute certain weather products (i.e. data, maps, and forecasts), it hurts jobs and hurts the private sector. Santorum doesn’t seem to be using his brain. The NWS provides thousands of jobs. But maybe he wants companies like AccuWeather to prosper more so that will they give him more political monetary contributions. The public relies on the NWS to help protect their lives and properties. The products released by companies such as AccuWeather aren’t regulated like the NWS is. I’m not saying that AccuWeather isn’t accurate, but by eliminating functions of the NWS the general population would suffer more than the private sector is currently “suffering.”
Santorum is a hypocrite. He wants to eliminate parts of the National Weather Service yet he wants to whine and complain when the government isn’t doing enough during the aftermath of Katrina. But of course, it seems like he is just like the rest of the Pennsylvanian lawmakers: he is greedy and wants his money and has no regard for the well being of the taxpayers. Remember when his children were enrolled in cyberschool? He wanted his school district in Pennsylvania to pay for their cyber-education while his whole family resided in another state. He is money hungry and he will not receive my vote when he comes up for re-election.
