Support Mikita for needed change

2 min read

As a consequence of the July 7 pay raise, you’ll hear many candidates this season making promises of transparency and openness, and that’s a positive development. However, just as important is what a pro-transparency candidate intends to do with power once entrusted by the electorate. John Mikita is a Republican candidate for office in the 51st District who wants to change Pennsylvania state government for the better. His aim is not only to open Pennsylvania’s government up to much-needed scrutiny in order to make it accountable, but also to work to regain Pennsylvania’s economic vitality by reducing the size of the $25 billion state government.

To renew Pennsylvania, Mikita realizes that we must eliminate wasteful spending and cut taxes so that we can more effectively compete. He believes that to safeguard our children by enacting tough laws to punish those that would dare to harm them. He believes that monies promised for reform should go for that purpose and not be frittered away on ineffective “economic development” schemes. He believes that small business owners and entrepreneurs know better than Harrisburg bureaucrats how to grow Pennsylvania economy.

Mikita desires to positively impact Pennsylvania and make it a better, safer, and more prosperous place to live. He wants his child to have the opportunity to live here, to work here, and to raise a family here. That’s why he is running for office. He realizes that there is much to do. If you want a candidate that believes in the core principles of accountability, transparency, smaller, less onerous government, economic growth, vitality, and opportunity, then you are one of the Pennsylvanians that want your government fixed.

If you want it fixed, vote Mikita in ’06.
