DeWeese outburst praised
In reply to your recent editorial chastising Representative DeWeese for his recent outburst in Harrisburg against your newspaper I can only say it’s about time. What did you expect from him, praises from a newspaper that almost daily has at least one condemning article about the minority leader? Your newspaper seems to hold some politicians to a double standard. You praise one certain long-term politician for his rank and seniority and ability to bring in federal dollars into the area, but on the other end when it comes to Representative DeWeese you always state it’s time to get rid of these career politicians.
One local congressman has I believe 40-years in office. Is it time to get rid of him? By the way when or will you start bearing up on him for voting himself a pay raise? It happened early this week and has been talked about prior to being voted on, but yet not one word in your editorials about it. Double standard again I ask?
As for you, Mr. Sunyak I can only say I find you one of the most cynical and sometimes juvenile journalists I’ve ever read (and I use the word sparingly). You and your (I’ll plagiarize a little here) “clone” at WMBS seem to show a hint of jealousy in you because I do remember hearing you state on your radio program on Friday, one time that maybe you both missed the boat by not being in the ranks of the well off political packs.
Yes, I believe like many in this area that the Herald-Standard has really stooped to their lowest standards by keeping you as editor. I believe the people in this area are hoping that the owners will see this sooner before it’s too late.
