Issues trump mudslinging
I want to commend the reader who last week criticized the negative attacks of some candidates for state representative. There was yet another “Letter to the Editor” recently which was negative, slanderous, and intended to mislead and confuse voters. Enough is enough! The voters are not stupid. Candidates and their supporters can’t just fling mud and expect us to lap it up, especially unfounded accusations and flat-out lies. We want to hear about the issues. To all candidates and their supporters who write “Letters to the Editor,” tell us where you or your candidate stand and what you are going to do to make things better for us.
Try focusing on the real policies that mean something to our lives, instead of political smear tactics. I publicly challenge all the candidates to run a positive campaign. No personal attacks, no lies, no false accusations. Talk about the issues. Talk to us about the things that really matter, instead of bogging us down with garbage.
