Public entitled to make demands

1 min read

I would like to make a comment on Mark O’Keefe’s March 12 commentary column. He stated, “Board members (the Uniontown Area School Board) seem fixed in their views and they certainly shouldn’t be browbeaten or pressured into voting a certain way just to satisfy those who attend board meetings.”

Say what? The people who attend those board meetings have every right to be there and to voice their opinions. To satisfy the taxpayer is something this Uniontown Area School Board should strive to do, so that there could finally be some good dialogue between the board and the people they serve.

No matter when or how the general public hears of a project of such magnitude as the building project endorsed by the majority of the school board directors, there is still time to step back and really take a good look at what you are doing and to reconsider your actions.
