Loony flu strikes Brownsville
There are times when it’s difficult to deliver devastating news. I will make this message as soft but direct as possible. After reading the Redstone Township supervisors meeting article concerning their serious difficulties (Republic/Cardale), I received a leaked report from the Audubon Special Bird Lab. It appears 16 years ago a flock of loons were flying over Brownsville, Pa. In the flock were two not-so-with-it loons who just couldn’t make it. Giving up they dropped out and landed at the wharf.
For some time these two lonesome loons were friendly and liked by most of the town. Then the day of reckoning arrived and with a fury, these two loons exposed Brownsville to a bird flu. Not avian flu, but a strain more uncontrollable. The Loony Flu has three areas of penetration: 1. Crime growth, 2. Property devaluation, 3. Loss of self-esteem.
The report shows Harrisburg dropped the ball, as they were aware of the disaster. Our state Rep. Bill DeWeese walked away from the problem, while state Rep. Pete Daley did all he could to protect the loonies. Because of this disinterest the Loony Flu is spilling to our neighbors (Redstone, Grindstone and Luzerne townships).
Money from the state and federal governments, our tax dollars, will be needed in large amounts to even give us a chance of survival. We should begin with the instant scraping of the Brownsville Northside Street Scape. Cosmetics are not a part of the formula to save us.
I have been right about many things in the past. No one would listen. I’m right again. Are you listening? It’s amazing that two loonies could cause so much misery for so many.
