I am a World War II veteran. My war began in North Africa in 1942 and ended 38 months later in Czechoslovakia, when hostilities ended in the European theater. I want to say that I wholeheartedly support state Rep. Bill DeWeese, and am very saddened by the constant attacks that I have been seeing in this newspaper. I do not care if politics was a consideration for DeWeese holding the veteran recognition ceremonies at this particular time, for it gave so many of us a chance to shine once again, in the presence of our families. I sincerely hope that every veteran, regardless of political party, will support one of our own, DeWeese.

Although I am no supporter of President George W. Bush, I am willing to forgive him for his many disastrous mistakes if all of those that have been attacking DeWeese are willing to sign up for military duty in Iraq or Afghanistan. Do I have any takers?
