DeWeese supports veterans

2 min read

In response to Col. Ann Drach’s letter, I am not one to get personally involved in the campaigns of our elected officials, but if I should ever choose to do so, I would get my facts straight. State Rep. Bill DeWeese did honor our World War II Greene County veterans with a certificate after the ceremonies in Crucible for the dedication of the World War II monument. Any veteran or their family member had the opportunity to obtain these certificates by an advanced request. DeWeese even had blank ones available the day of the ceremony to be passed out. I know this to be a fact, as I was one of the few to organize this event.

Any time a veteran is honored, it is the proper time to do so. DeWeese has always supported the veterans of this nation. I have had the privilege to march with him in numerous Veterans Day parades both at Jefferson and Waynesburg.

Any time I have asked him to speak or attend an event he has responded. There are many issues I am sure to be debated about in this election cycle. But DeWeese’s support of veterans should not be questioned.
