Hosler doing great job
Hats off to Mayor Lewis Hosler of Brownsville. He really needs commended for a job well done, for putting together the parade, which was held Sept. 9 in Brownsville. How he pulled other committees together honoring all who were killed since Sept. 11, 2001 was amazing. I believe they started reading names at 7 a.m. Everyone’s name was read except six soldiers whose names have not been released to date. It was touching.
Mayor Hosler told of several experiences he had dealing with death while serving in Vietnam, with tears streaming down his face, his voice cracking as the memories flooded back. You could see the pain all over his face for his beloved soldiers. The memories entered in his heart and mind will be there forever. You could plainly see he was devastated as he paid tribute to all who died since Sept. 11.
Paying tribute to our local First Sgt. Christopher C. Rafferty, who lost his life in August, was extremely hard for Mayor Hosler.
I thank you, Mayor Hosler, for everything you have done to honor all those who gave their lives to protect our country. I am very proud to say I’m a resident of Brownsville, Pa., and honored to be under the leadership of Mayor Lewis Hosler.
