Stop gun registration bill
Another of our rights is being trampled. The Second Amendment of the Constitution that guarantees our right to keep and bear arms is being dismantled piece by piece. Some of our state representatives believe that in order to own a gun we must submit to them the following: Name, home and business addresses; phone number; date of birth; Social Security number; age; sex; citizenship; two mug shot photos; background check; and fingerprints.
You are being treated as a criminal. Also required are the manufacturer, caliber or gauge, model, type and serial number of each gun.
You must also supply any additional information that the state police may deem necessary to process your application. If your application fails you must surrender your gun to the police. Reread the last two sentences.
What if you have a valuable gun? What if your information doesn’t suit the policeman who processes your application? Think about it.
This proposed registration will cost you $10 per gun per year. It shall be a summary offense for your husband or wife, brother or sister, or friend to handle your gun.
Remember, there are already laws covering violent gun use. Are you willing to pay more for larger government control?
Do you want to be in one more database? Will criminals comply?
This seems an inevitable step toward government confiscation of all guns. Will criminals find access to this database to steal valuable guns?
You can find the names, addresses, and e-mail addresses of all Pennsylvania state representatives at legis.state.pa.us along with House Bill No. 760.
Please flood the offices of the bill’s sponsors with your disapproval. The sponsors are Cruz, Youngblood, Parker, Wheatley, Bennington and Curry.
Also write to your local representatives. Insist they say no to House Bill No. 760.
