Stop Route 166 speeding

2 min read

I live on Route 166 in Hibbs. Where the state police stay away from. Why? The speed limit is 35 mph. But they go whatever speed they want to. ATVs and dirt bikes ride up and down the road all day Saturday and Sunday, but no police.

I have a 20-year-old son who is blind and handicapped, and we have to cross Route 166 to get to our cars.

You look both ways, you see nothing, but by the time you are in the middle of the road, cars are flying at you and don’t slow down. I’ve got to grab my son by his belt and drag him across or we both would be run over. And then they cuss at you and give you the finger because they have to slow down from going 50 mph or faster.

I have called the state police lots of time but have never seen a speed trap at Hibbs. If they come out, I can give them a chair to sit on and find a yellow jacket to wear. But we need them here, once a year anyhow, to show these bums that they don’t own the roads and the speed limit is 35 mph.
