Torture isn’t sitting in parked car
In response to your April 26 front-page story “Slaying suspect claims confession was coerced,” I would like to make a statement to the ACLU and Mr. Martin’s attorney. Torture is not sitting in a parked car for less than an hour, in the shade, with the windows partially open while a massive search continued for Gaby Bechen. Torture is being sexually molested, strangled, buried in a 6-foot grave and having lime thrown over your little body like a rotting roadside carcass.
Mr. Martin should be thankful that he was under the watchful eyes of our very competent state troopers. What a pity he was not even offered an iced bottle of Perrier water as he sat in the shade. His treatment was more humane than that of little Gaby Bechen.
