Dems may regret nullifying primaries

1 min read

More and more, it’s looking like the Democratic Party’s decision to nullify the presidential primary elections in Florida and Michigan was a bad idea. Sen. Barack Obama holds a slight lead over Sen. Hillary Clinton in the delegate count – making Pennsylvania’s April 22 primary of vital importance to both sides – but neither Democrat is able to count delegate support from the aforementioned two big states. That’s because the party chose to punish them early on for moving their primaries up in the election cycle. That’s proven to be a very short-sighted, punitive measure, one that is likely to backfire if Obama and Clinton continue running neck-and-neck. Shouldn’t all votes count?
