Event a big success
Speechless. That is the word that describes the staff and volunteers at The Uniontown Salvation Army. We were humbled by the kindness of our local community, friends, sponsors, and event planners that took part in the Spin-it Community Day. We especially want to thank Ryan Geary Sr., John Voytek and Karen Tweardy of the Herald-Standard for their long hours and hard work. Boston Beanery, Rizz’s Pechin’s Firehouse restaurant, Pasta Lorenzo, Third Presbyterian Church and the Spin-It staff and volunteers for providing wonderful food and friendly service. A special thanks to Pam Moore and the staff of the Uniontown Mall for the use of the property and staff to accomplish such a wonderful feat. We were thrilled by the wonderful music provided by The Chris Higbee Project, Brynn Marie, and Stereotype. The dedication and time that they placed into their performances provided an example to us all about humble service to our fellow man.
What a privilege it was to work beside the American Red Cross and their blood drive in memory of Abby Check. I have heard of the wonderful story of what your service of blood provision provided for the family of Abby Check, and we are proud to be partners with such a wonderful agency that has the mission of helping people at their point of need; a mission that we take seriously as well.
We also had the honor of meeting some of the participants in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night event.
Your tireless efforts, along with the other volunteers and members of the society, have paved the way to better lives for diagnosed patients in our area.
We are blessed to be part of such a wonderful community that reaches out to help their neighbors.
