Animals deserve respect
I am compelled to write this letter because I am upset at what I saw on my way to work recently. On Route 119 near the old Hitters Delight, which is now a storage place, there lay a small black kitten dead right on the yellow line of the road. Whomever hit this little kitten and just kept on going needs to be smacked. You know who you are and you should be ashamed of yourself.
I have dealt with dogs/cats getting hit on the road all of my life and it’s a tragic situation and a situation that most people don’t like to be involved in but, unfortunately, it does happen.
However, I am sickened at the senseless disrespect people give these animals.
First of all, if this precious little kitten did belong to someone, then why the heck would they let it lie in the middle of the road to just to keep getting hit?
It was laziness, idiocy or probably just plain old being a moron.
That’s sickening. If it was a stray, why wasn’t there someone somewhere willing to at least push it to the side of the road or call someone who could take it away.
I have had to deal with putting an animal to the side of the road before just out of respect to the poor animal.
I’m not stating for anyone to stand in the middle of a busy highway to remove an animal, but there are people you can call to have the animal removed.
I have to say that mankind disappointments me, and I’m surrounded by idiots.
If this were a human being we certainly wouldn’t let that person lay there in the middle of the road.
Animals are God’s creatures, and they deserve just a little respect.
