Point clarified

1 min read

A point of clarification on Al Owens’ anti Bush-Cheny-Rove rant on the evils of torture in general and specifically, waterboarding. Japanese Field Marshal Shunroku Hata, commander of Japanese troops in China during WWII and promoter of the Changjiao Massacre in which 30,000 Chinese civilians were killed and thousands of women raped in May of 1943, was sentenced to life in prison for war crimes. To say it was for waterboarding is a bit like claiming that James Earl Ray was sentenced to life for peeping at Martin Luther King through a rifle mounted telescope.

Mr Owens, like many liberals, never lets facts get in the way of making his point.
