PennDOT thanked
I wanted to give the local PennDot office staff on North Gallatin Avenue Extension a huge thank you for their help with regards to a median sign that was broken off and lying in a dangerous position at the intersection of Matthew Drive and New Salem Road.
It bothered me for a while, and I decided to call someone. Someone would have been impaled on the sign because of its position lying down or if an accident occurred, someone would have been badly hurt if they ran over it.
I had called a number and was told that it was South Union Township’s responsibility. I called South Union Township and they told me it was PennDOT’s problem which got me nowhere.
I then decided to call City Hall in Uniontown to see if they could give me some advice as to what to do and a lady gave me the local PennDOT number to call. The woman at PennDOT said that she would send out a supervisor to check it out and would call me back. Several minutes later the woman called me back and said that the sign was taken care of and removed. When I drove home after work, the sign was gone.
Once again, a huge thank you for handling the situation in such a prompt manner.
