Explanation needed

I have noticed an article or two in the HeraldStandard.com criticizing the new voter ID law that was introduced by Pennsylvania state Rep. Daryl Metcalfe and signed into law by Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett.

I would like to know the real reasons that HeraldStandard.com has not explained the true background behind that law.

The most forgivable reason that I can think of is lazy journalism. The other possible reasons that come to mind are more sinister, but I would like to give your newspaper the benefit of the doubt.

Please give your readers detailed background of the voter ID legislation. Please explain what the ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council) organization is and how it works. Please give details about how many major companies are involved with ALEC, as well as the kind of major money they have to put up to have a representative sit on ALEC’s Corporate Board.

Please explain how ALEC passes out so-called “model” bills to various state legislators across the nation to have certain laws passed state by state. Please describe Rep. Metcalfe’s connection to ALEC and also ALEC’s connection to these voter ID bills which have been popping up in various states.

I think your readers deserve to know how the government in this country really works.
