Ten Commandments supported
WOW! The F.F.R.F. (Freedom From Religion Foundation) lawsuit against the Connellsville Area School District, to protect anonymous plaintiffs from coming into contact with a Ten Commandments monument at Connellsville Junior High, has caused a reaction.
Southwest Pennsylvania will not lay down and be quiet over this lawsuit, especially since F.F.R.F.’s demands are so unreasonable. While the monument has been shrouded, thousands upon thousands of Ten Commandment displays from “Thou Shalt Not Move Them” have sprung up in Fayette, Westmoreland, Washington, Greene and Somerset counties and even been seen in New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Florida, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and beyond.
In the communities of Uniontown, Connellsville, New Salem, Normalville, Champion, Smithfield , Donegal, Somerset, Meyersdale, Mount Pleasant, Farmington, Scottdale, Ruffsdale, Greensburg, Washington, Waynesburg, Masontown and everywhere in between, one is surrounded by the Ten Commandments and reminded of our Judeo-Christian roots.
What a character-building, wholesome message the Ten Commandments carry for all of us. Respect your parents, don’t steal, kill, covet or lie. I hope this message is not lost on the plaintiffs as our jails are already full of young people who never learned the commandments.
Fortunately, southwestern Pennsylvania is reminded of these commandments at every bend in the road, and I predict the crime rate will plummet when these constant, visible reminders of right and wrong are taken to heart.
