Mapletown fans praised

2 min read

I recently visited Mapletown for the first time in my life on Friday evening to watch my son play football for Vincentian Academy.

He is an Eden Christian student playing for their start-up team. I honestly didn’t know what to expect as we drove further and further away from the highway on to winding roads leading to the school.

I brought with me, my mother who is 83, my stepdad who is 87 and my uncle who isn’t far behind. I have to tell you, it was one of the nicest days I’ve had in a long while; not just because of the weather.

The people there were very friendly, from the woman at the ticket booth, who kind of started our evening off nice, to Sherry in concessions with her friend who’s husband’s name is Jerry (must be a nice guy), to the people in the stands.

I had to leave my seat for a moment and returned to find that my stepdad almost fell, and a lady helped him get to the restroom and waited to help him back. Who does that today?

Then, as we were leaving, my stepdad and my mother both were falling at the same time, and I had to reach back to grab my stepdad, when another woman caught my mother.

To top it off, the coach and team of the Maples were classy enough to hold the last touchdown. You have a great town, Mapletown. Be proud of your team and yourselves!
