Christmas is all about love
It’s that magical time of the year when most everyone has that “Christmas Spirit” in them and are not hesitant to spread it around.
It doesn’t matter if you are a believer or non-believer, most of us share time together with our families and or loved ones. However, it is also a time that is difficult for many. Suicides are more frequent this time of the year because there are many who have given up hope. They feel as they are at the end of the line. They feel as they are all alone when in fact, they just need somebody to talk too, a soundboard. It doesn’t have to be a homeless person or somebody that you think meets the criteria.
It could be somebody that you know or think you do. Or perhaps your best friend or even a member of your family. My friend, please let me tell you that Christmas is so much more than Jesus the baby in the manger. It’s so much more than buying presents and decorating. Christmas is all about love, or I should say Jesus, the man because he is love.
I will try to attempt even with my secular humanistic feeble mind to tell you how much he loves you. Without Jesus, we would be lost or finished. God the father has seen how wicked we had become, and there is no way we could inherit the kingdom of heaven. So God sent his only son, Jesus, to pay our sin debt. We don’t know a lot about his childhood except that he taught in the synagogs and was a carpenter until He was 30. The next three years were the most significant life-changing events that have ever occurred in the history of mankind.
The Bible is Christ centered from cover to cover, with prophecy coming true about his coming and not once has it ever been disproved. At any rate, his ministry only lasted three years. Homeless with no money, he left a legacy so profound that it is unbelievable to many. He healed the sick, made the lame walk, raised the dead right in front of their eyes and still they didn’t believe. But, the worst was yet to come.
He knowingly and willingly was beaten beyond all human recognition, was forced to carry his own cross and was crucified and was forsaken by the father. After all of this, he asked the father to forgive them. Why did he do this? It was love.
