Gun control criticized
Gun control is not an excellent idea. This conclusion is reached by using constitutional law and interpretation based upon the Third Amendment. Reading the Third Amendment clarifies what the purpose of the Second Amendment is as envisioned by the writers of the constitution.
Some say, well, not considering present lethal weaponry. Our forefathers made no restrictions, such as cannons. At all points during history weapons were accepted, and advancements were cherished.
Some say that it is foolish that one is obsessed with fear of our very caring, modern government. What is current is no guarantee of what the future will be. Reading history provides proof of that.
Personally, my concern is not a matter of distrust of our own government that it would turn to being too tyrannical to tolerate. It is about something that the government itself warns us of, a fiscal cliff.
Should the government fail, it will become the personal and group (militia, feudal system) responsibility to protect one’s family and property from the armed lawless groups that will roam about to pillage the peaceniks. At that time any possible foreign invaders would have to consider the elemental fact that America is an armed nation with great capabilities, as history has proven.
