Lights are too bright

2 min read

I live in Hopwood, two houses west of a neighborhood store.

In late March or early April, the owner erected an LED sign about 125 feet from my home. This sign shines and flashes directly in my windows all night long.

It lights up the interior of my home like daytime, and the flashing just compounds the problem. We have trouble watching TV and sleeping at night. It has changed my family’s life.

I went to the owner and asked him if he could turn it off from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. His comment was for me to purchase some darkening blinds. He would not turn the sign off, not stop it form blinking and flashing during my requested hours.

I went to the state and the township for seven months and nothing was done to alleviate the problem.

The township supervisors contacted him, but he wouldn’t change his mind. Please ride by my house and see my dilemma. If you agree, please support me and boycott this store until the sign is turned off or made to stop flashing between my requested hours late at night. This is a neighborhood store, but the neighbors apparently don’t matter. I’m asking for your help and support. Thank you in advance.
