By a 2-1 vote, the Fayette County commissioners have approved the conversion of a Uniontown building into a temporary woman’s prison until the new prison at the fairgrounds is built. Do you think this is a good use of taxpayers’ money? Do you think all alternatives were looked at?

“I don’t think it’s a good idea, and they probably didn’t look at all the alternatives the same as they did with the ferry!”

“Wall the whole city up and make it a huge prison like the movie ‘Escape from New York.” Make sure to leave the politicians in there also.”

“I don’t think that’s good place to put any prison, for males or females.”

“The actual root cause of the problem is still being ignored. The Three Stooges believe in using bandaids instead of solving problems. This is why the status quo continues to exist.”

“Do the three commissioners ever agree on anything? It’s always 2-1.”

“I wish someone would address the issue of why so many people are IN the prison.”

“Why are they bothering to do something now when’ve already decided to build a new prison for both men and women. This is just more money out the window for taxpayers. Who is going to to foot the bill for all this nonsense.”

“The majority commissioners should be praised for trying to improve prison conditions even if it is temporary. Should we tell the women to just accept there terrible conditions now and don’t think things will improve anytime soon? Well, that’s what you’re saying if you’re opposed to this women’s prison.”

“So many people already have their minds made up about this prison. No one really wants to hear the facts, and that’s very dangerous. People should be able to disagree about an issue without being called part of the conspiracy or being in on the fix. It’s just terrible what people say about other people when it’s anonymous.I blame this all on the Internet.”
