Columnist remembered

1 min read

I looked in this past Sunday’s Herald-Standard newspaper for the column H.I.T.S. by Eric Shultz before I remembered both the column and the writer were gone.

We never knew or met Eric Shultz, but we were constant followers of his weekly column. They were knowledgeable, informative and often amusing. They changed with the current trends in technology of iphones, computers or anything new or cutting edge.

When his battle began, he also added new dimensions that included visits to Morgantown Hospital as he updated readers in the health war he was fighting and winning. He added fond memories of his childhood and old haunts in England.

Each article has a mention of Mrs. Shultz that always had a lighter side. When his column was missing because of his health, we stopped at the Herald-Standard to inquire of his absence.

We will miss someone we thought gave insight to others fighting health issues with great humility and a column we will miss.
