Voter turnout for the May 20 primary is expected to be around 30 percent. One way to increase voter turnout would be mandatory voting with non-voters facing fines. A number of countries have mandatory voting including Australia. How do you think mandatory voting would go over in the U.S? Is there anything else that can be done to increase voter turnout?

“They wouldn’t do it. It would ensure themselves being voted out of office.”

“Why should someone have to vote if they aren’t even educated on who they’re voting for? Besides the fact that it’s a person’s right to choose if they want to vote or if they don’t. It’s all a part of what’s left of our our “freedom.”

They know mid-term elections voter turnout is usually low so what better time to put things before the people for a vote. More things that the majority of Americans is against, is put to a vote during mid term elections.”
