Butela backed

2 min read

I want to thank the Herald-Standard for the pictures and articles regarding Marigrace Butela at her swearing in as tax collector for Dunbar Township and the followup articles regarding her candidacy for the 52nd district in the state legislature.

As a former radio talk show host, I have come to know many people, but I have never known anyone who unselfishly cares so much about people and their problems. She will help you anytime. To allay the fears of Dunbar Township residents, you are not losing a tax collector, you’re gaining a stronger voice to help you.

Outside her office is a sign displaying the Ten Commandments. She doesn’t need the reminders. She tries to follow them to the letter of the law. Her posted office hours say they end at 4:30 p.m., but that’s misleading. Marigrace works long past these hours, sometimes until the wee hours of the morning.

We talk almost every day, and we disagree on almost nothing. No one controls Marigrace. Her thoughts are for the people she serves. I changed my voter registration from Independent to Democrat so I can join hundreds of others in voting for her, as every vote counts.

Our state legislature needs an honest, independent voice in Harrisburg. I hope you will join me in voting for her.
