Animal group praised

3 min read

The animals from Fayette County have been saved by a wonderful organization called Animal Friends of Westmoreland.

Thank you Candy Nelson for your love and compassion for these wonderful creatures that God has entrusted to us. Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who made the journey a success.

I just read the article in Friday’s Herald-Standard about the wonderful rescue. Thank you for loving our animals and your help in finding homes for them.

Words are not enough. I have been blessed with a wonderful dog named Jackee, a pomeranian/poodle mix. She is one and a half years old.

She was my first real pet, and I’m 57 years old. The joy she has brought me and my husband has been the greatest. I got her for my 84-year-old dad so he could have something to love and help take care of, but he got sick and couldn’t even hold her. That was OK with Jackee, though. She would sit at his feet under his wheel chair and just watch him. When we couldn’t find her, she would be in his room just watching him.

That wonderful man passed away on July 23 this year. He left me this little dog to love in his place. I would not have got her if it was not for him. So here I am, a dog lover. I plan to rescue a dog soon. But for now I want to donate time, money and treats to all those who aren’t as blessed as Jackee.

Please donate to this wonderful Animal Friends of Westmoreland today and make your heart feel glad that you are helping another living thing. If you have one or more pets in your wonderful life, you are blessed. God gives them to us to love and take care and in return they give us back more than we deserve. Jackee is a part of my family.

Adopt one as soon as you can. You will never regret it. For those who want a first pet, adopt one. They will love you when you do not think anyone loves you. Please donate what you can or as often as you can to help this wonderful cause for our pets in Fayette County.

As you well know, it is not cheap to take good care of these precious pets. Please adopt or donate. Step up Fayette County residents. Show everyone how much we love our animals in this county.
