It hasn’t been this cheap to fill up your tank for five-and-a-half years. The national average price of gas has declined for 88 days in a row — the longest streak on record, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. If that’s not enough good news, the decline, which began on Sept. 25, has accelerated over the last week and doesn’t show signs of slowing. Do you think the price drop will last? Why do you think the prices have dropped? And have the lower gas prices been a welcomed relief to you during this holiday season?

“If (Obama) gets the blame when the prices are high, then a big thanks to Obama when they are low.”

“Of course it won’t last. Neither will the oil.”

“Pass keystone and it will be between $1 and $1.50 a gallon where it is supposed to be.”

“Wrong… They are getting ready to shut down the tar sands cause it costs more to extract the oil than they make.”

“Please tell me how Canadian tar sands oil being transported to the Gulf of Mexico to reach the global market will benefit us? I’m sure Canada will benefit immensely. You do know that the good ole USA already is a leading producer of oil and natural gas?”

“Domestic production has been on a huge increase for the last few years.”

“Why are liberals so scared to open pipeline from Canada? Scaredy cats.”

“Pray Obama doesn’t try to stop dropping gas prices! He will try soon.”

“All the crap going on in the world and you are using the power of prayer to stop Obama from raising gas prices.”

“Hope it gets down to $1.87 again. The price it was the day Obama took office.”

“What I have read… both Bush and Obama doing something has caused the price drop and it is finally taking affect. I do not follow politics for my own personal reasons, but I may agree with some of that.”
