God is love
February brings thoughts of love.
Love is a synonym for God. It’s a feeling of strong personal attachment, tender affection for one of the opposite sex and benevolence toward one’s children.
The most popular form is the love between a man and a woman. It can be a powerful force for good or evil. Romantic love is falling short of expectations because self has replaced God as the center around which our lives revolve.
When men lose God, they lose the purpose of life. The universe becomes meaningless. Seeking to fill the emptiness by making someone else’s flesh a god, sex deification leads to idolatry and adoration which eventually ends in disillusionment because the human soul’s need for infinite love cannot be satisfied by finite sources.
There are three kinds of love: agape, love of God; filia, love of family; and eros, romantic love. Love of God must be given top priority. To alter this invites failure in the other forms of love. Christ exemplified this love of God. It’s selfless love. Until we understand and imitate this love, our limited efforts will end in disappointment.
We must loathe the sexism promoted by materialist philosophy which is a major factor in the rise of mental/emotional health problems in our “liberated” society. These sex cultists confuse love with sex. Sex isn’t love. Sex is glandular. Love is in the will. We can have a loving relationship with another human being that is touched by the divine once we know God through his son.
Until we meet Christ, we will never know what true love is and we will have missed the flight to love, now and for eternity.
