Democratic gubernatorial nominee Tom Wolf has a 22-point lead over incumbent Republican Gov. Tom Corbett, according to a recent poll Franklin & Marshall College poll of registered voters in Pennsylvania. Do you plan to vote for Wolf or Corbett? Who do you think will win the election?
“Wolf wins easily. Then becomes a typical politician like Corbett, lining pockets of big corporations and big pharmacy. They’re all the same. They’re all rich, snotty people out of touch with the common voter.”
“Wolf without a doubt.”
“Wolf’s not going to be any better.”
“Let’s vote for the guy we like just so we can turn our back on him later at our convenience. There, a majority of voter mentality summarized nice and neat.”
“Wolf.”
“Not Corbett.”
“Well I don’t live in Pennsylvania now, but if I did it would be Wolf that I’d vote and support.”
“Not Corbett. It’s time for him to move on.”
“Vote for Wolf and you will pay a 1.5 percent increase in the state income tax. There will also be a sales tax on food, clothing and lawsuit settlements. The shale tax will end drilling. Hope that makes you happy.”
“The way it works in Pennsylvania is Republicans govern for eight years then Democrats govern for eight years. It always goes back and forth. So, Corbett will definitely win another term.”
“There is no “system” in Pennsylvania for a governor serving two terms and Corbett’s defeat will prove there is no such rule/pattern beyond incumbents having a large money advantage. In this case, no amount of money is going to save Corbett unless he can put $40 billion into the general fund.”
“”Tom Corbett’s campaign attacks on Tom Wolf’s policy to spend and borrow more would resonate more if Corbett and the Corbett Republicans had not enacted the same policies. Even the bare bones budget increases spending. Republicans are supposed to be fiscally responsible “adults” but Corbett Republicans cannot be trusted with money any more than childlike Democrats who think money grows on trees and that the government is an ATM with no limit that never has to be paid back.”
“Corbett has been a very bad governor. He has absolutely no time to turn around his bad poll numbers, and he can’t undo four years of failing to properly fund education. Wolf is ahead in the polls because of that, and he’s going win in a landslide come November.”
