Tea party takeover ripped

2 min read

After reading several articles in the paper about a new leader for the Republican Party of Fayette County, I do not understand how this could happen.

I, for one, and I know there are many other Republicans in this county that are not very happy either. I have been involved in politics for 35 years and served 12 years on the Brownsville Area School Board, so I have been involved in many elections, and when you run for school board positions you crossfile and you need both Republicans and Democrats. This new regime as I see it stems from the Fayette Patriots, which is the tea party.

I’m sorry I am a Republican not the tea party. On paper the tea party looks good, but the people that are running it call themselves conservatives. I call them radicals. If you listen to them, you would not look or speak to a Democrat. I do not know how they expect to win an election, especially in Fayette County.

In the beginning when Dave Show was trying to take over the Republican Party, I went to a few meetings, but I didn’t like what I heard. It seems to be his way or the highway. For me I guess it is the highway. I do not believe in mixing religion and politics. Everyone has their own opinion and this is mine so I guess I do not belong. Under no circumstances am I a member of the Fayette County Patriots or the Fayette County Tea Party.

I guess the Republicans in Fayette County are out in left field with no say so, and I think that’s very sad.
