Gov. Corbett is facing an estimated $1.5 billion budget deficit as he tries to pass a budget by the June 30 deadline. To make up the difference do you think Corbett should raise taxes or cut government funding? Are there any programs in particular that you think could be cut?

“Cut government funding. Yes, their pay and perks.”

“Sure would have been nice to have some of that fracking money. He thinks if we imposed it, they would drill elsewhere? As many wells that popped up, I don’t think they could have drilled in Ohio and W.Va. and pulled it out from under us. I think Corbett missed that little opportunity.”

“Just legalize cannabis and the problem will be solved.”

“Yes, cut all the perks that government workers get!”

“People can only be pushed so far. As people in power get more and more greedy, the common people will be pushed closer and closer to turning this nation into another Egypt.”

“He should tax the heck out of everyone because they shot down every single initiative he tried to pass to save/make money. You know, stuff like privatizing the liquor stores. Then he gets attacked for stupid stuff like education spending. The $1.3 billion he cut, was a reflection of the loss of $1.3 billion the fed gave as a one-year bonus, yet everyone freaked out because they wanted to pay $1.3 billion of their state taxes now?”

“The truth is Corbett is a failure who is failing at cleaning up after that failure Ed Rendell. All of our politicians are failures because they either Kowtow to the elderly or the unions.”

“”We need to stop bad spending. What is bad spending? Bad spending is putting black top down on roads every year when putting in concrete roads would last decades longer. Why do they blacktop everything? Because it keeps crews on the roads and those crews are largely union. Save money by repairing well, not often.”

“Our casinos are crippled by old LCB laws that prevent them from giving away drinks. This puts a direct dent in tourism, and slows the growth of these businesses. Similarly – the state is trying to find ways to allow poker machines in bars, but they are gouging the businesses so much with permits and taking 50 percent, that no sane bar owner will go for it.”

“People keep voting in failures – and they keep freaking out when the failures actually try to change anything, so yeah. Tax us more. We deserve it.”
