There are reports of dozens of ISIS sympathizers operating openly here in the United States — including a radical cleric with a criminal history. One student is using the ISIS flag as his Facebook banner and posting comments advocating their viewpoints. Do you have any concerns that this could lead to attacks in the United States? How hard should the U.S. be cracking down on such sympathizers? Are they just misguided, or are they real threats?
“The idea of fighting ISIS on homeland with no rules of engagement. It’s not looking good for them.”
“They are a real threat. If parents were smart, they’d get their kids out of these colleges and pay more attention to what your child’s schools are teaching! I believe that’s where a lot of this is coming from!”
“It already started here with the beheading in Oklahoma. Work-place violence? Wake up, people.”
“They are here, and an attack on US soil is definitely a real threat. Our government needs to be proactive in this threat, and the people of this country need to wake up from the fantasy they live in. If you sympathize with these people, go live with them.”
“Isn’t this the group our president referred to as the J.V. team of terrorists. Maybe he should start attending more intelligence meetings.”
“There should be zero tolerance for anyone showing support in any way of ISIS. Any evidence of support, and they need locked up on suspicion of terrorism. (Not sure if that is a real thing, but there has to be something you could charge them with.) Or are we going to just ignore these people like we did the warnings about the Boston bombers?”
“They have no business living in the United States. Deport them.”
“If they love ISIS so much they should be sent over there. There should be no tolerance for supporters of those monsters.”
“I think if they like them so much, just send them over there to be with them. I’m sure they won’t be missed here.”
“If they believe in ISIS so much, we should do them a favor and buy them a one-way ticket to Syria.”
“They’re a very real threat.”
