Rev. Marietta accused of being a false prophet

By James Sloan 4 min read

This is in regards to a column written by the Rev. Ewing Marietta, published Oct. 6 in the Herald-Standard.

The Rev. Marietta refers to scripture to make a political statement. The Book of Psalms is a book written by man to praise God. The Rev. Ewing uses the book not to praise God, but to make a political point. Psalms 139:13 doesn’t refer to abortion as the Rev. Ewing would lead you to believe.

Changing the word of God is not unusual for the Rev. Marietta. In the past, the Rev. Marietta took it upon himself to commit blasphemy by changing the word of God in the Ten Commandments. The Rev. Marietta then sold for profit or social standing or political purposes, the blasphemous version of the Ten Commandments to unknowing followers of Christianity, who believed they were supporting a righteous cause.

The Rev. Marietta decided he knew better than God and changed kill in the Ten Commandments to murder. What’s in a word you might ask? Well, for over 4,000 years, the sixth commandment has been interpreted by scholars of every major religion to read thou shall not kill. Jesus while giving the Sermon on the Mount said the only sin that gods will not forgive is blasphemy, Matthew 12:31-32, Mark 3:38-30 and Luke 12:30.

In theology, blasphemy is taking it upon onself to change the word of God or put they self above God. The Rev. Marietta claims that he repents for not standing up against a number of things from slavery to Social Security. It just shows how the Rev. Marietta and his followers have such disdain for the common man.

In presenting the Second Epistle of Paul 2, Thessalonians 3, the Rev. Marietta seems to believe that seniors and disabled veterans who can’t work shouldn’t be fed.

The Rev. Marietta opined that Americans that can’t do for themselves and rely on others for assistance are unworthy and should be shunned. The Rev Marietta also exalts the new people (corporations) created by five men on the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Rev. Marietta doesn’t reject the idea that corporations are people and urges support for these false people. Perhaps Christians need to look into their Bible and read the warning about false prophets, Mark 13:22, Matthew 7:15, 24:11, Acts 13:6, Luke 6;26 and Revelations 16:13.

Don’t be fooled by the false prophets. The Bible teaches us that God created people not the Supreme Court justices. The Bible teaches us to love thy neighbor, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick and honor thy mother and father. The Bible doesn’t say deny God’s people food if they have lost their job or retired or became disabled.

The godless Republican Tea Party wants to repeal the American Care Act. They want to cut benefits for veterans and Social Security. They want to eliminate Medicare. They believe that the people like our wounded warriors, our elderly our disabled and single women with children are leeches feeding at the public’s expense.

The Rev. Marietta is wrong in his belief that America is being ruined by our seniors, disabled veterans and single woman with child. They have lost their jobs because big business shipped those jobs overseas.

America is strong and will overcome anything, regardless of the hate mongers and fear merchants who spread the word of the godless. We live in a country that is more powerful than any other and no matter how hard the godless want to drive us down into despair, we will overcome. We will look up and remember what a great American once said. “We have nothing to fear except fear itself.”
