Here are comments made to stories on the Herald-Standard’s website:

Millions in Social Security for expelled Nazis

“Let me start with the fact that if these men are guilty of said crimes against humanity then they should be prosecuted to the full existent of international law. However if they worked and paid in full to earn their pensions they deserve them. They should be punished for their crimes not for what they legally earned.”

State System OKs two new graduate programs at Cal U

“I think that when students choose the future career, they should make a very serious research to understand if they have a chance to become a demanded specialist or at least to find a job. So, even while writing a college admissions essay, we need to have a clear vision what is waiting for us and where we are going. There are lots of people who just feel despaired because they have spent many years and lots of money for the specialty which doesn’t give them opportunity to make a living.”

Law signed to curb Abu-Jamal’s ‘obscene celebrity’

“Whether Jamal is a convicted murderer or if he was convicted unjustly is not the issue. Free choice on the behalf of the students and free-speech rights for all of us is at stake with this restrictive and unnecessary campaign law on the behalf of the worst governor this state has ever seen is the issue.”

Ban travel from West Africa

“It is the studied and formulated analyses of the medical profession across the world that if we close our boarders the spread of this plague will leak across the world by covert means. I was of your opinion until I read the studies of the doctors involved in stopping this plague.”

AP-GfK Poll: Disapproval, doubt dominate on Ebola

“The main problem with the US health system stopping the Ebola problem at most hospitals is that they are privately owned and do not have to comply with federal demands of how safety and the needed equipment must be followed, used or supplied to stop this plague. The hospital in Texas did not have the proper suits nor did it wish to acquire them before the nurses were sent to care for the Ebola patients.”

Survey: Pay raises rarer despite strong US hiring

“The statistics given in this report are a false positive for job creation; a large amount of the jobs created are part-time jobs. This still leaves most Americans employed in these jobs in need of a second job and dependent on food stamps and Medicaid assistance. Which equals government welfare for businesses and corporations at the expense of the employee and our tax dollars. A job-creation program is needed across the nation based in renewable energy and products needed to support this industry. This would create full-time middle class employment that cannot be sent over seas. Also these new industries should be employee owned.”
