Food bank drive set
Did you know that one in seven residents relies on the Fayette County Community Action’s food bank?
What that means is that they have to make trade-offs. They have to pick between buying food for their children, or paying for utilities, rent and medicine. With state and federal cutbacks to the food bank and an increase in the number of families needing help, more than ever, some of our neighbors in Fayette County need our support.
The Fayette Chamber is holding its Seventh Annual Fayette Chamber Cares Fall Food and Turkey Drive to benefit the Fayette County Community Action Food Bank on Saturday, Oct. 4 at Adrian’s Market in Hopwood from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Area residents are asked to drop off their donations of non-perishable items to benefit the Fayette County Food Bank with 100 percent of all donations staying in Fayette County.
All those who contribute are eligible to register for a 5-cubic-foot chest freezer, generously donated by B.J. Mundel Furniture. The drawing for the freezer will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 4.
As well as the food drive, the Fayette Chamber is also holding its turkey drive. A $10 donation will be used to purchase turkeys for the food bank to distribute during the holiday season. The first 25 to donate $5 or more will receive a free gift compliments of Chris Kennedy with HALO Branded Solutions
Don’t let this decision gobble up your time please stop by and help The Fayette County Community Action Food Bank with your generous donations of cash or non-perishable items.
Thank you,
Chris Kennedy
