Zapotosky praised
I want to express my feelings about the news that Vincent Zapotosky has decided to hang up his hat as our county commissioner. His decision causes me mixed emotions.
On one hand, I respect his decision based on his promise to serve only two terms.
On the other hand, I am sad to lose a leader who took time to care about the needs of small towns such as Brownsville. Because I am a former elected official of our town and have been a volunteer for many years, Commissioner Zapotosky impressed me with his honest concern and willingness to devote time and effort to help revitalize the town.
It is so rewarding to have a superior respond to all phone calls and requests, taking time to meet with others who showed interest in our town. I recall when he walked with a group of us for a tour of the town to discuss our future. He was always ready to offer ideas and suggestions to help our efforts to bring life back to the town. Vince also went the extra mile to help encourage our hospital services. It was so pleasing when he took time to attend our fundraising activities. These are just a few of many special memories that will linger in my mind.
Yes, I feel sad to lose a quality person who truly cares enough to supply this type of support, but I do believe God will guide his next venture and I send my prayers and best wishes to him.
