Parking problems

1 min read

This is my fourth letter regarding the continued parking of a white jeep in a handicapped spot behind the 911 building in downtown Uniontown.

It was parked there again this past Saturday at around 10:30 p.m.  It should also be noted that the inspection sticker is expired, and I saw it being operated on South Street.

I called the Uniontown police station and reported the parking to a female who answered the phone and she advised she would call 911 to get the owner of the vehicle and have them move it. Why is her department making calls in reference to this vehicle rather than giving the operator a citation under section 3354 of the vehicle code. Violations have been repeatedly reported to her department?

The female who answered the phone said they were out of parking tickets, and why is that? Are they out of citations also or just taking care of the jeep’s owner or driver?

If this is how they handle complaints, I hope they’re not part of the next city administration. I hope someone with a professional attitude and knows how to do their job becomes the next chief.
